Jay Coen Gilbert

Jay Coen Gilbert is the Co-Founder of B Lab, a non-profit organization that supports socially responsible companies. By becoming a B corporation, entrepreneurs can 1) stand out as leaders; 2) grow and create liquidity without compromising their values; and 3) differentiate their business through billions of dollars of collective market presence and millions of dollars of marketing spent by B Lab promoting B corporations as distinct, and meaningful.

Jay co-founded and sold AND 1, a $250M basketball footwear and apparel company.

Jay Coen Gilbert co-founded AND 1, a $250 million basketball footwear and apparel company based outside Philadelphia. Jay led AND 1's product and marketing for most of his 13 years and was AND 1's CEO during its period of most rapid growth.  Prior to AND 1, Jay worked for McKinsey & Co and several organizations in NYC's public and non-profit sectors.

Jay grew up in New York City before heading west to Stanford University. Graduating with a degree in East Asian Studies in 1989, Jay is a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute. He has been a mentor for 7 years and is a current Board member of the Philadelphia chapter of KIPP, a national public charter middle school, and City Year, a leading Americorps program. Jay and his wife Randi live in Berwyn, Pennsylvania with their son, Dexter, and daughter, Ridley.
