Charlie Kireker

Charles F. Kireker

Charlie Kireker founded Pendulum Media, LLC in early 2008, to acquire the majority ownership interest in Air America Media, LLC, a transaction completed in March.  At that time, Kireker assumed the role of Chair of the Board of Air America and led a small investor group, including past investors, that injected a major new round of capital into the company.  Charlie is a co-founder and former managing director (prior to March, 2008) of FreshTracks Capital, L.P., based in Middlebury, Vermont, which manages $25 million in Limited Partner capital in two distinct funds.  FreshTracks co-invests in early stage companies, primarily in New England, with Village Ventures. Before launching FreshTracks in 2000, Kireker co-founded in 1993 Green Mountain Capital, L.P., a mezzanine Small Business Investment Company that invested in more than 30 companies in northern New England.  Earlier, Charlie launched Twin Birches, Ltd. in Middlebury in 1986 to specialize in downtown commercial revitalization and neighborhood development projects.  Kireker also co-founded North Country Angels in 1999. He is an experienced angel investor, Board member and consultant to emerging growth companies, including now or formerly VEMAS, Vermont Teddy Bear, EatingWell Media Group, Autumn Harp, eesa, and KLD Analytics. Active with numerous non-profit Boards and committees, Kireker is a Director of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont.  He also serves on the Investment Committees of the Vermont Community Foundation, Vermont Public Radio and Shelburne Farms. Charlie served ten years on Governor Dean’s Council of Economic Advisors and also Environmental Advisor and formerly chaired the Board of the Vermont Land Trust he continues to serve for Governor Douglas on the Council of Environmental Advisors.  And Kireker is a member since the spring of 2007 of Senator Obama’s National Finance Committee. Kireker earned his BA at Princeton University and post-studies at Harvard University’s JFK School of Government.
