Our Services
Investors' Circle serves as a bridge between early-stage entrepreneurs and our investor members, providing multiple platforms for fostering successful values-alligned investments:
Venture Fairs
Investors' Circle (IC) holds two National Venture Fairs each year. The Venture Fairs serve as our most productive avenues for deal flow. At these events, we invite up to 20 companies to make short presentations to an exclusive audience of accredited investors. The conference program also includes ample networking time. Our Spring Venture Fair takes place on the West Coast and our Fall Venture Fair takes place on the East Coast. Since 2005, nearly $35 million has been invested into over 40 Investors' Circle Companies. Historically, 25% of our presenting companies have always received funding, even in the worst economic climates. Companies that are invited to present are asked to pay a $250 per person presentation fee.
IC also conducts Virtual Venture Fairs on a monthly basis, in which we opportunistically highlight some of the most exciting and investment-ready applicants that have recently come into our pipeline. These Virtual Venture Fairs help attract additional investors, and allow us to align events more closely to the capital needs of the entrepreneurs who have applied.
Additionally, IC will conduct co-produced Venture Fairs with select partners. In 2010, we produced a small Venture Fair within the LOHAS annual conference, where we were able to help three of the eight presenting companies identify capital sources. And in January 2011, in conjunction with the Department of Education, the Aspen Institute, and Startl, we produced a 20 exhibitor Venture Fair within the Education Innovation Forum. These events provide yet another avenue through which we can promote our applicants.
A company that is accepted into the IC network and included in our online database will be considered for each upcoming Venture Fair. Entrepreneurs do not need to provide additional information to be considered, and may be contacted four to eight weeks before an event if an IC selection committee requires further information for their review. Roughly 10% of companies accepted into the network are chosen to present at each venture fair.
Online Company Database and E-Newsletters
Investors' Circle hosts an online database of company summaries on www.angelsoft.net. An application from a company that has been accepted into the Investors' Circle network is "activated" in this database. Our application fee is currently $150 dollars.
Investors' Circle sends monthly e-newsletters to its membership announcing the new companies that have joined our database, and linking to company websites and descriptions. These monthly announcements draw our members back to the site on a regular basis. While the e-mail can be forwarded, only IC members are able to access the link to your complete company profile.
Interested investors may contact entrepreneurs directly when they wish to pursue a particular opportunity.
