IC Local Associate

Investors’ Circle is looking for a savvy professional with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and high initiative to play a critical role in expanding our local networks. This is an excellent opportunity to enter the impact investing sector, engage with investors, entrepreneurs, and industry players, and gain experience with an innovative, entrepreneurial team.


The IC Local Associate supports the development of local investor communities and local investment activity. The Associate coordinates local network infrastructure and logistics for each of IC’s seven local networks (Philadelphia, New York City, Boston, DC, North Carolina (Raleigh/Durham), Colorado (Denver/Boulder), and SF Bay Area) as well as collaboration across networks. The Associate will also build local relationships with investors, entrepreneurs, sponsors, and industry players and support impact investing ecosystem development in the Northeast. The position is based in Philadelphia, PA, the location of IC’s largest local network, following a temporary training period at IC’s headquarters in Durham, NC and reports to the Director of Membership & Programs.


Local Network Infrastructure Development

1) Network Operations:

  • Work with the Director of Membership and Programs to implement and continuously evaluate and improve IC’s local network strategy and programs
  • Engage with prospective entrepreneur applicants and coordinate local network deal flow pipeline and entrepreneur selection with IC’s Operations Associate
  • Engage with prospective investor members and coordinate investor contact management and membership recruitment with IC staff and local network leadership
  • Manage communication and deal syndication across local networks and to the broader IC network
  • Liaise with IC’s Communications Associate around local network marketing strategy, web pages,
  • meeting invitations, social media activity, and event promotion
  • Research local network markets and landscape local entrepreneurship and investment players
  • Work with IC team on local network initiatives, partnerships, and events

2) Northeast Regional Development:

  • Attend events, maintain visibility for IC, and build local relationships with investors, entrepreneurs, pipeline partners, and sponsors in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, and Washington, DC
  • Support IC Philadelphia’s executive committee as it drives IC Philadelphia’s growth strategy, manages the local network portfolio, and works to build the impact investing ecosystem in the region and state

Local Network Meeting Coordination

1) Local Investor Experience: 

  • Manage pre-meeting investor outreach and invitations
  • Manage post-meeting communications with investors, cultivating membership and facilitating investment due diligence

2) Local Entrepreneur Experience: 

  • Invite and engage with presenting entrepreneurs, providing preparatory information, and ensuring submission of required materials
  • Manage post-event communications with entrepreneurs, including investor feedback and due diligence proceedings

3) Logistics: 

  • Manage relationships and meeting logistics with hosts and vendors
  • Travel to meeting locations and manage on site logistics


  • Committed to the promotion of business as a positive force in society and strong interest in impact entrepreneurship and investing.
  • Strong organizational skills. Able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Can communicate competently with external and internal stakeholders in a professional, effective manner.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (anticipated up to 40%), attend events, and learn about players in the early stage investing, entrepreneurship, and impact investing space. Comfortable networking and meeting new people.
  • A positive, can-do attitude, high degree of initiative, sense of humor, and ability to work collaboratively with a creative, entrepreneurial team.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and tech savvy. Comfortable working with and quick to learn new tech platforms (experience with a plus).
  • Undergraduate degree and 3-5 years work experience required.

The remote position is located in Philadelphia, PA, home of IC’s flagship local network. The Associate reports to IC’s Director of Membership & Programs, also a remote position based in San Francisco, CA.
