Scream Sorbet makes exquisite seasonal sorbets from local organic ingredients. Scream uses the best local, organic, and seasonal produce available and makes its sorbet one quart at a time.
How would you describe your business?
Scream Sorbet is based in Oakland, California, and sells at our store, farmers' markets, and gourmet venues all around the Bay Area. We buy seasonal, local, and organic ingredients and hand-craft them into exquisite frozen desserts.
What impact do you hope to have with your company?
We're showing the world that it's possible to make dairy-free frozen desserts that aren't a substitute for ice cream, but something even better. While we're at it, we support good growing practices and raise customer awareness of local growers.
What has been your most recent accomplishment?
This year we've raised our first investment, moved into our own kitchen space, doubled our production capacity, and tripled the number of retailers we sell through. We're still small, but growing fast. We've also made a lot of great sorbet.
How do you see your company and your industry growing and changing in the next 20 years?
Sorbet is the next big thing in frozen desserts. Our fruit, vegetable, and nut based sorbets are both healthier and taste better than the alternatives. There is currently no clear brand leader in sorbet, and we're well positioned to lead the field both locally and nationally.
